Sandgap is a small unincorporated community located in Jackson County, Kentucky, United States. It is situated near the intersection of US Route 421 and State Route 30 in central Kentucky, about 16 miles southeast of Berea and 20 miles southwest of Richmond. Sandgap was named for the "sand gap" found between two hills in the area. The community has a post office, a few small businesses, a church, and a fire department. The surrounding area is primarily rural and agricultural with small farms and forests. Outdoor recreation opportunities include hiking, fishing, hunting, and camping in nearby parks and forests.
